Game Recap: Women's Soccer |

Falcons bested by nationally ranked Concord

SOUTH EUCLID, OH – The Notre Dame College women's soccer team (5-8-3, 5-7-3 MEC) hosted #12 Concord University (14-0-3, 12-0-3 MEC) on Wednesday afternoon for the Falcons final home game of the season. CU got the best of NDC today, 4-0.
 
In the first half, Concord scored just 61 seconds into the match off the foot of Rachel Bell. The Mountain Lions added to their lead in the 20th minute when Yasmin Mosby extended her MEC leading goals scored total to 18. In a relentless pursuit of attack, Concord tallied a third goal in 26th minute by Michelle Brogden.
 
In the second stanza, NDC would record their first shot on goal via Emily Gimmel in the 52nd minute but it was saved by the Mountain Lion's goal keeper. CU would ultimately put the game to rest in the 62nd minute with a goal by Leah Foster, making the game 4-0 Mountain Lions.
 
In total, Notre Dame recorded four shots and three on goal, with two from Gimmel and one from Sammy Salatino. Concord showed a high-powered offense with 18 shots and eight on goal. Jordan Pasalaqua tallied four saves and CU's Leah Marsh grabbed three.
 
Notre Dame College will be back in action for their final regular season contest, when the Falcons travel to Philippi, WV to face Alderson Broaddus University on Sunday Nov. 7 at 3 p.m. Sunday marks a very important contest for the Falcons as they are currently tied with West Liberty in the third and final MEC North tournament seat. Both teams are deadlocked at 18 points, however WLU has two games remaining compared to NDC's one. The Hilltoppers are in action tonight against Davis & Elkins, before they face Wheeling on Sunday.
