Women's soccer falls on the road to Davis & Elkins

ELKINS, WV – The Notre Dame College women's soccer team (3-4-3, 3-3-3 MEC) hit the road for a Wednesday afternoon showdown with Davis & Elkins College (4-6, 4-5 MEC). D&E edged out NDC narrowly, 1-0.

In the first half, Jordan Pasalaqua was called upon early and often with a second minute save, a 12th minute save and a 13th minute save. Hannah Smith would then register two shots on goal in response to the D&E pressure in the 19th and 21st minutes. However, in the 37th minute the Senators netted the game winning goal from Madison Rose, assisted by Azalea Ayala.

In the second half, NDC would start to get their offense going with five shots in the half, but it was not enough in the end as the Falcons were shutout for the second straight contest.

NDC registered seven shots in total and put four on goal, with two from Smith, and one from Sammay Salatino and Kalie Blaising. Notre Dame added four corner kicks and tallied six saves via Pasalaqua. D&E did their damage with 12 shots and seven on target. Davis & Elkins also totaled four corner kicks and four saves.

Notre Dame College will be back in action on Sunday Oct. 17 at 1 p.m. when they travel to Charleston to face the Golden Eagles. The Falcons will be in search of their first win on the road this year.
