FROSTBURG, Md. – Notre Dame College's Jevontae Jones scored 15 points and Michael Sampson added 14 points and 13 rebounds in a 71-70 road loss to Frostburg State University, on Saturday.

NDC scored first, as they have in every game this season. A few minutes later, a three-pointer by Jones with 14:38 left in the first half gave the Falcons an eight-point lead, 14-6.

On the other side, Frostburg State started the game shooting 4-for-16 from the field, and did not hit a three-pointer until the 5:26-mark in first half.

After Notre Dame extended their lead to 14 points, 30-16, Frostburg State stayed in the game with a 10-2 run. The Bobcats' Jamil Jones scored six points during the run. With 3:46 on the clock, FSU trailed by six points, 32-26.

The Falcons led by eight points, 38-30, going into the halftime break. Jevontae Jones had 10 points at the break to lead NDC. The Falcons were shooting 41-percent, overall, while Frostburg State shot just 33-percent.

To start the second half, junior Michael Sampson scored on a layup on NDC's first possession. Then, junior Jordan Roland connected on a shot from long range, following an offensive rebound, which made the score 43-31 in favor of the Falcons.

Frostburg State put together a small run with just under eight minutes to go, but that was halted after they committed offensive fouls on three consecutive possessions. The Falcons then extended the lead back to nine points, 61-52, with 5:46 left.

But after that point, Frostburg State ended the game on a 19-9 run and grabbed the lead. With five seconds remaining, Desmond Rene knocked down two free throws to put FSU on top.

Jevontae Jones reached double-digit points for the first time this season, ending the game with 15. Sampson gave the Falcons their first double-double of the season and sophomore Jordan Burton added eight points and five rebounds, with three of them coming on the offensive end.
