EASTLAKE, Ohio - The Notre Dame College baseball team fell 11-7 at Lake Erie College on Thursday evening. The Falcons were able to score in four of the nine innings played, but could not catch the Storm.
Lake Erie scored four runs in the first and second innings to go up 4-1 and did not relinquish the lead throughout the rest of the contest. NDC's run in the second inning was scored by
Rick Phillips who was brought home by
Adam Purdy.Â
Phillips had a great day at Classic Park as he total three RBIs and two runs off three hits. He hit a home run to left field in the fifth inning to score the Falcons' second and third runs of the game.
Naja Garcia kept the scoring going in the sixth inning after reaching home on a wild pitch.Â
Notre Dame was able to score the final three runs of the game in the eighth inning with
Corey Miley,
Nick Farrell and Phillips all batting in runs.Â
The Falcons used six pitchers throughout the nine innings.
James Holle closed out the game without allowing a run.Â
NDC will play at Shepherd on Satuday and Sunday, April 27 and 28. Both days are set to start at 1 p.m.Â
