Game Recap: Women's Soccer |

Falcons and Hilltoppers hold tough again

SOUTH EUCLID, Ohio - The Notre Dame College and West Liberty University women's soccer squads faced off for the second time this season on Sunday, and for the second time both teams allowed zero goals. The matchup, like the first, went into double overtime to result in a 0-0 draw.

The Falcons were able to do more offensively, getting off 13 shots compared to WLU's three, but Olivia Montgomery held strong as the Hilltopper goalie to save six shots on goal. Jordan Pasalaqua also played well in command of the strong NDC defense. In her first career shutout, the freshman made one save.

Head coach Mike Shiels was happy with how his team played, but knows there's room for improvement.

"We played well," Shiels said. "I'm happy with the team's effort, but we just need to convert on our opportunities."

NDC moves its record to 2-3-4 (1-2-3 MEC) and matches the program record for most ties in a season.

Notre Dame travels to Wheeling on Wednesday, October 9, for its next MEC game. Kickoff is scheduled for 7 p.m.
