Lacrosse plays a home game tomorrow and then starts their conference schedule on the road

Next Games: Notre Dame College women's lacrosse plays at home against Cleary University and then travels to Charleston, W.Va. to play the University of Charleston on April 13 at 4 p.m. They travel to the University of Virginia's College at Wise on April 15 at 12 p.m.

Records: Notre Dame is currently 2-6, Cleary is 4-9 on the season, Charleston is 6-4 and UVa-Wise has a record of 6-3.

Coaches Corner: Pam Jenkins is in her second season as head coach at NDC and holds a record of 4-16. Jason Stanyer is in his second season as the head coach and led the Cougars to a 1-5 record last season. Elizabeth Gainer is in her second campaign at the helm of the Golden Eagles and led UC to a 4-11, overall, and 1-4 MEC record in 2017. Meghen Dennehy is now in her fourth season and last year, she coached the team to a 12-5 and 4-1 record in the MEC.

Rankings: None of these teams are ranked in the IWLCA Coaches Poll.

Series History: The Falcons have never played Cleary and hold a record of 1-1 record against Charleston since 2016. They are 0-3 against Virginia-Wise since 2015.

Noting the Falcons: NDC lost to Ursuline College and Siena Heights University at home, last week. Leading the Falcons in several categories this season is Selena Carter, who wins 5.12 draw controls-per-game, which is third in the Mountain East Conference. She also causes 1.88 turnovers-per-game which is tied for first in the conference. Bailey Reardon is second on the team with 14 caused turnovers. Carter has also scored 21 goals and accumulated 24 points.  Taylor Henderson leads the team with 30 shots-on-goal. Morgan Belting has saved 50 shots this season.

Noting the Cougars: Cleary beat Bethel College 14-4 and then lost Marian University by a score of 17-6, snapping a two game winning streak. The Cougars have improved their win total by three, after finishing last season with a 1-5 record. CU plays NDC and Siena Heights University to wrap up their 2018 season.

Noting the Golden Eagles: Charleston only played one game last week, and lost to Centre College, 16-6, on the road. UC causes turnover at a high rate, currently second in the MEC at 12.5 caused turnovers-per-game. However, they turn the ball over 15.5 times-per-game, which is also second in the conference. Aryanna Jones averages 3.30 goals-per-game, which is second in the conference. She also racks up 4.20 points-per-game. Kyra Tye is first in the MEC in saves-per-game with 10.20 per game.

Noting the Cavaliers: UVa-Wise beat Lincoln Memorial University by a score of 17-12 on March 28. The Cavaliers currently lead the MEC in shot percentage at 48-percent. Kristin Gobbi (3), McKayla Grasham (2.75) and Jesse French (2.71) are fourth, fifth and sixth in the conference in goals-per-game. Sydney Steinberg is second in assists-per-game with two. Hannah Marshall is tied for first with 1.88 caused turnovers-per-game. Melanie Reilly is second in the conference in save percentage at 47.8-percent. Gobbi earned the MEC Offensive Player of the Week and Grasham is the conference's Defensive Player of the Week, which was announced on April 2.
