NORTH CANTON, Ohio - The Notre Dame College baseball team traveled to Walsh on Thursday and lost 11-5 after the Cavaliers scored eight runs on a flurry of home runs in the fourth inning.
Walsh was the first to score in the lone game on April 5 with a single-run home run in the second inning from Avery Janning. That would signal the start of six total home runs for the home team as all 11 runs were scored on homers.
The Falcons had things going late in the game as they got on the board in the seventh inning with an RBI from
Ricky Phillips. NDC scored another four runs in the ninth inning, but it wasn't enough to close the gap.
Naja Garcia,
Joseph Paskell each batted in a run in the final inning while
Nick Farrell brought in two. Garcia, Paskell and Farrell also led the team with two hits each.
Danny Matic got the Falcons through the sixth and seventh innings without allowing a run. The sophomore struck out three batters in 2.1 innings pitched.
Notre Dame will head to West Liberty for a four-game series this Saturday and Sunday, April 7 and 8.
