Tomorrow: Due to weather, Notre Dame College women's lacrosse will play their game against Northern Michigan University at Oberlin College, beginning at 1 p.m. on March 6.
Records: Notre Dame currently holds a record of 1-1, while NMU has started the season 0-2.
Coaches Corner: Pam Jenkins is entering her second season as head coach at NDC and holds a record of 3-11. Emilia Ward is also in her second season as the coach with the Wildcats and is 2-15.
Rankings: Neither of these teams are ranked in the IWLCA Coaches Poll.
Series History: Notre Dame is 0-1 against Northern Michigan as the Falcons lost 22-10 in the matchup last season.
Noting the Falcons: Notre Dame won convincingly over Madonna University by a score of 16-4 on February 25. In the game, the Falcons scored the final six goals of the first half and then put 10 more in the back of the net in the second half.
Taylor Henderson led the team with five goals and six points while
Selena Carter scored three goals on three shots.
Katherine Elsenbeck scored two goals on two shots. The Falcons were 5-of-10 with their free position shots. Goal keeper
Morgan Belting was named Mountain East Conference Defensive Player of the Week after recording 13 saves and allowed only four goals in her debut in goal. The Falcons fell to Millersville 23-4 on March 3. Carter scored two goals on three shots. Elsenbeck and
Natalia Gardner each scored one goal.
Noting the Wildcats: Northern Michigan played a very close game against Wheeling Jesuit University on February 25, but lost in double overtime 14-13. Emily Dvorak had four goals and three assists while both Ellie Bahr and Bianca Kinder scored three goals. Goal keeper Emily Karbaum had 17 saves over the 67 minute battle. She did not allow a goal for 8:21 before allowing the winning goal one minute into the second overtime. NMU played another tough game against No. 3 ranked Lindenwood University on March 3, which turned out to be an 18-4 loss. Dvorak added three goals on five shots. Karbaum recorded 15 saves.
