SOUTH EUCLID, Ohio - The Notre Dame College women's soccer team lost 1-0 at home against Shepherd in a Mountain East Conference matchup on Thursday afternoon.
The Falcons had strong play on both the offensive and defensive end as they out-shot the Rams 11-2. NDC also took four corner kicks without allowing one to the visitors.
It was a tricky bounce that led to the Shepherd goal as a long kick from Alyssa Nazarok bounced in the box over goalkeeper
Kyra McDowell's hands to land behind her for Brogan Pifer to land an open-net goal.
In other action in the Mountain East North Division, Fairmont State lost to West Liberty. Notre Dame leads the division with 22 points while FSU is second with 14 and WLU has 13. With three games left to play, the Falcons can now secure a first place finish in the North with just two points. With a win worth three points and ties worth one, NDC can secure a division title with a win or two ties.
Notre Dame will play at Charleston on Sunday, October 21, at 1 p.m.
