ALLIANCE, Ohio – Notre Dame College allowed 16 goals in the first half and fell to the University of Mount Union, 22-3, on Tuesday night.
The Falcons (1-2) have lost both of their road games this season. The Purple Raiders (3-1) are now on a two game winning streak.
Ashley Bernardi scored the first goal of the game as she put Mount Union up, 1-0. However, the Falcons tied the game up at one with
Darbie Barkman's first goal of the game.
The Purple Raiders scored the next 15 goals, with their final goal of the first half coming with 10:52 remaining, by Caitlin Bradley.
Barkman scored the last goal of the half, at the 8:50-mark, making the score 16-2 when the two teams entered the halftime break.
In the second half, Bernardi and Barkman, again, traded goals to start the stanza.
MTU scored the final five goals of the game, with five different players putting the ball in the back of the net.
NDC was held to 10 shots in the game and eight draw controls. Barkman scored three goals on six shots.
Ashlee Boyko scooped up five groundballs.
Mount Union took 37 shots in the game, including 20 in the first half. 10 players scored at least one goal. Katie Elder and Marjie McNamara both scored four goals. Bradley and Bernardi scored three goals. Danielle Rohrman assisted on three goals.
The Falcons will come home to take on Northern Michigan University on March 26. The game is scheduled to begin at 11 a.m.
