Box Score SHEPHERDSTOWN, W.Va. – The Notre Dame Falcons played in their first road game in over three weeks on Sunday afternoon, and fell to the Shepherd Rams, 21-3.
The Falcons (2-4, 1-1 MEC) saw a brief two game winning streak come to an end with the loss, while the victory for the Rams (5-3, 1-0 MEC) was their fifth in their last six games.
It was a rough afternoon for the Falcons, who were not able to get much going against the Rams, who were picked to finish first in the Mountain East in the preseason coaches' poll.
Shepherd took control from the get go, as they dominated the opening half, by outscoring Notre Dame, 15-0. In the opening half, the Falcons had a tough time clearing, converting on 5-of-13 attempts, while Shepherd fired off 23 shots to just four for NDC.
Notre Dame was able to get on the board in the second half, getting their first goal from
Ashlee Boyko with 10:58 remaining in the contest. Notre Dame scored three of the game's final four goals, but they were not able to dig out of the early hole.

Emilia Ferrara all scored goals for the Falcons on the evening.
Brooke Czarnecki had a nice day for the Falcons defensively, causing four turnovers, and came away with six ground balls, and earned five draw controls. In addition to scoring a goal, Boyko had two ground balls, caused three turnovers and earned a pair of draw controls.
The Falcons are in action again on Sunday, April 12, when the play host to Virginia-Wise in their final home contest of the season. The Mountain East Conference tilt is scheduled for an 11 a.m. start.
