SOUTH EUCLID, Ohio – The Notre Dame College lacrosse team produced a dominant display on Friday afternoon on Mueller Field to defeat the visiting Arrows from Ursuline College 19-1.
With the win the Falcons (3-4) bounce back from consecutive one goal losses, while the Arrows (1-1) suffered their first defeat of the season.
The Falcons started fast scoring the first nine goals in the contest to lead 9-0 with 6:25 remaining in the first half. The Falcons were very balanced offensively as the first nine goals came from nine different Falcons.
The Arrows would score their first goal of the game with 6:01 remaining in the half, before
Allison Merten and
Kristen Hull would get their second goals of the game to give the Falcons an 11-1 lead at halftime.
NDC were highly efficient in the first half scoring their 11 goals on 17 shots with 15 being on target.
The Falcons were equally impressive in the second half as they blanked the Arrows and added eight further goals to claim a 19-1 victory.
The Falcons were led by
Madalyn Dewling and
Kristen Hull who each scored four goals to take their season tallies to 24 and 15 respectively.
Allison Merten had three goals,
Halie Taylor had two goals and six further Falcons had one goal each.
Allison Merten led the way in assists with four and
Madalyn Dewling had three assists.
The Falcons are in action again on Tuesday, March 25, when they travel to Canton, Ohio to take on the Cavaliers of Walsh University at 3 p.m.
