Madalyn Dewling combined to score the first nine goals of the match as Notre Dame (7-5) cruised to their second win of the season over Urbana (2-13).
Notre Dame (7-5) scored first when Matthewman rippled the twine at 29:27 mark sparking an onslaught of NDC goals. Matthewman's goal was followed by #Katie Christensen#, #Jen Hrobuchak#, #Jill Dixon# all scoring a pair along with a second by Matthewman and a goal by #Madalyn Dewling# giving the Falcons a comfortable 9-0 with just 2:59 remaining in the opening 30 minutes.
Urbana (2-13) would respond through their leading goal scorer Brittany Mazzu with a free position shot at the 1:46 mark trimming the NDC lead to eight (9-1). Christensen would respond 45 seconds later for her third goal of the day to put Notre Dame up 10-1 going into the halftime break.
On the other side of halftime, #Shannan Edwards# got the Falcons off to another hot start netting her third goal of the season extending NDC's lead to 11-1 within 15 seconds.
Hrobuchak followed up with her third goal of the game in her first of three free position goals at the 25:20 mark, then #Amy Albanese# picked up her 12th goal of the season then #Kristen Hull# chipped in with a free position shot extending the visiting Falcons lead to 14-1 with 17:55 remaining in the contest.
Mazzu trim the NDC lead to 14-2 with her second goal of the game at the 16:49 mark.
It would then be Hrobuchak who would score free position goals on either side of goals by Dewling and Christensen for a commanding 18-2 with 7:09 remaining.
Notre Dame would hold that lead until the closing minute of play. In an 18 second span Urbana would convert twice first when Nora Boerger would scored a free position shot with 48 seconds remaining, then Allyssa Schimmoeller netted her first collegiate goal with 30 seconds left to bring the Blue Knights to an 18-4 deficit.
#Jen Hrobuchak# led the Notre Dame attack with five points (5 goals), while #Katie Christensen# provided four points on four goals and #Jill Dixon# had three points (2 goals, 1 assist). A trio of freshman, #Madalyn Dewling#, #Kelly Matthewman#, and #Kristen Hull# each with two points, while #Amy Albanese# and #Shannan Edwards# completed the scoring with one each.
Brittany Mazzu led Urbana with two goals, while Emily Boerger and Nora Boerger added one each goal for the visiting Blue Knights.
#Rachel Tarasco# collected seven saves in the opening half earning the win for the Falcons, while freshman #Kelsey Harvey# made five saves in relief. Allyson LeMasters made 9 saves for Urbana while surrendering all 18 goals earning the loss for the Blue Knights.
Notre Dame returns to action on Thursday, April 14, when the Falcons host Tiffin. Opening draw for the rematch that saw NDC survive a 15-14 game at Tiffin March 30 is scheduled for 7 p.m. at Korb Field.

After being held without a point against Urbana on March 30, the 5-foot-10 midfielder has scored 23 times while assisting another three goals. Her 42 goals and 47 points lead the team. For her career she has amassed 106 points (91g, 15a) in her three year career. Both her points (106) and goals (91) rank sixth all-time in program history above Jenn Morse.
BUCKEYE BASHERS: Notre Dame is 11-0 against Ohio foes. Four of those victories came last season as part of what was a nine-game NDC winning streak from March 24-April 17. The Falcons are 16-1 in their last 17 games against opponents hailing from the Buckeye State. Their all-time results include 36 games against Ohio programs - NDC is 23-13 in those contests.
FIRSTS AND SECONDS: Tuesday evening's contest marked the second meeting between the two programs. Urbana entered their inaugural 2011 season losing their first 11 games including an 18-3 decision to NDC at Korb Field, March 22. Urbana completed their first season with a 2-13 mark. The Falcons instituted Lacrosse in 2005, that season the Blue & White went 0-6 before defeating Medaille (N.Y.) 13-4 at Korb Field. Overall the Falcons went 2-10 in their opening year.
