Michael Heichel came to Notre Dame College in the fall of 2009. He was named Head Athletic Trainer in December 2019 and is responsible for all 19 sports on the NDC campus as well as the Athletic Training Facilities in the Keller Center and the Harks building.
Prior to joining Notre Dame, Heichel spent nine years as an assistant athletic trainer at Kent State University. In addition, he was Kent’s Athletic Training Education Program Approved Clinical Instructor, which involved supervising, instructing, and evaluating undergraduate athletic training students. He also served as Kent’s Associate Director of Medical Services.
Heichel earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Health Promotion from Bowling Green State University in 1998, and earned his Master’s Degree in Arts in Physical Education from Kent State in 2000.
He currently resides in Mogadore, Ohio.
