Cory Stainbrook joined Notre Dame College wrestling staff in 2017. He current serves as the Head Assistant Coach for the Falcons after spending the previous two seasons with the program. He served as a Graduate Assistant for the 2017-2018 wrestling season before moving up to full-time Assistant Coach in the 2018-2019 season.
Coach Stainbrook comes locally from Streetsboro, Ohio where he wrestled in high school for Walsh Jesuit High School. In high school, he was a four-time state placer and a two-time state finalist, also claiming All-American status nationally.
In college, coach Stainbrook wrestled at West Virginia University, under Olympic Silver Medalist and World Champion Sammie Henson from 2013-2017. During his collegiate tenure he was four-year starter and team captain. He placed third and fourth at the BIG 12 Championships while also qualifying for the Division I National Tournament.
He graduated from West Virginia University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Sport and Exercise Psychology. He is currently enrolled in the education program at Notre Dame College pursing a Master’s Degree to become a Mild/ Moderate Intervention Specialist.
