Cornél Britz joined the Notre Dame College Women's rugby program in August 2022, as a graduate assistant and coach. 
 
Cornél started playing rugby at the age of 5, going on to represent his high school's 1st XV for two years. After graduating high school he played semi professional rugby for the Griffons u/19 Currie Cup team, the team went on to eventually becoming champions of the Currie Cup u/19 B-Division. The following year he continued his career at the Central University of Technology, in Bloemfontein. There he represented the u/21 team, got a first team call up and helped CUT secure the University Sports South Africa (USSA) B-Division title in 2012. 
 
To realize his dream of coaching rugby, he decided to continue his academic career at the University of Stellenbosch, obtaining his degree in BA Sport Science in 2018. Whilst studying at the University of Stellenbosch, he represented the Maties Rugby club team, Markotters. He also played on the PSO Barbarians, who went on to play in the finals of the Sauer Cup. At the end of the campaign he was awarded forward of the year. 
 
Cornél first began coaching rugby in his final year of high school, he and a fellow teammate coached the schools u14D team. After this he coached his fraternity, Libertas PSO, in the first years tournament held at Stellenbosch University. The first year they reached the finals, losing in the last minute, the following year they went on to be crowned champions. 
 
He also coached at Paul Roos Gymnasium, coaching the u/15 D and E teams. There after he was appointed as the Head of Rugby at Strand High School, his alma mater. The following year he accepted a position as Strength and Conditioning coach at Drostdy Technical High School, where he coach the 2nd XV forwards and had the privilege of going to Wildeklawer School Sports festival.
