Stephanie Mentz-Bruce

Mentz-Bruce joined the Notre Dame Coaching staff in May of 2012. Prior to joining the Falcons, she coached for 13 years as both an assistant, and a head coach at the High School level.

Mentz-Bruce was promoted to Associate Head Coach on January 1, 2015.

The Cleveland, Ohio, native, served as an assistant coach at St. Augustine Academy 2000-02, Hathaway Brown School from 2002-03, and returned as the head coach of her alma matre, St. Augustine Academy, from 2003-05.

From there, Mentz-Bruce made her way to Midpark High School where she served as an assistant coach for one year, before taking the head coaching job in 2006. Mentz-Bruce took Midpark High School to three consecutive Southwestern Conference championships from 2009-12 and to district titles in 2011 and 2012. The Meteors reached the Regional Finals in 2011.

In her six years as head coach, she led Midpark to an 85-49 record and was awarded SWC coach of the year in 2010, 2011, and 2012. In addition, she was also named coach of the year in her district during that stretch.

Mentz-Bruce graduated from Baldwin-Wallace College and married Brian Bruce (Avon Lake, Oh) in August 2013. Â
