Milan Medo was named head coach of the Notre Dame College men's and women's swimming and diving programs in July 2023. He is entering his first season at the helm of the program.
Medo last coached at Penn State University – Behrend, where he spent one season. He was an assistant coach and equipment manager. Along with helping the athletes in the pool, he handled recruiting, he led weight workout programs and organized fundraising events. That season, the men’s team won an Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference (AMCC) title and the women’s program took second place in the AMCC Championships.
Prior to that, Medo was on the Findlay staff as a graduate assistant. The Oilers won back-to-back GMAC Championships (2018, 19) with both the men’s and women’s programs.
He spent two seasons as a student assistant coach at Grand Valley State University, helping the Lakers take two Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) titles on the men’s side and one on the women’s side. In 2016, the women’s program finished in fifth place at NCAA Division II Nationals, while the men took seventh. In 2017, the men’s program took fifth, while the women placed 11th.

As a student-athlete on the GVSU swimming program, Medo earned 19 NCAA All-America honors, became an NCAA Scholar All-American and was named GLIAC Men’s Swimming and Diving Freshman of the Year.
Over the span of four summers, he was an assistant coach at the Pirana Sport Club Topol’cany in Slovakia. He helped develop 9-to-12-year-old swimmers and the club team finished third in the country. As an athlete, he was a member of the Slovak National Team from 2006-2014 and holds 70 Slovak National Titles, 39 Slovak Records as well as taking the title Slovak Junior Swimmer of the Year in 2009.
Medo graduated from Grand Valley State University with a Bachelor of Science in physical education in 2016. He earned a Master of Business Administration at the University of Findlay in 2019.
