Alex Ludwig joined the Notre Dame College men's and women's rugby programs in the Fall of 2016. He is the assistant forwards coach and strength coach.
Ludwig has helped both rugby programs to improve their on field conditioning and also increase their strength in the weight room. Alex splits his time as a strength coach at Miracle Performance in Beachwood where he works with athletes of all ages on achieving their fitness goals.
Alex has his Bachelors of Science in Exercise Physiology and is also nationally recognized as a certified strength and conditioning specialist through the national strength and conditioning association. He obtained his undergraduate degree at Ohio University, where he also got his start playing rugby as a freshman.
During his time playing rugby for Ohio University, Alex acted as team safety officer, volunteer strength coach, and was appointed pack captain during his senior year. After graduation, Alex worked for two years as a strength and conditioning coach for Utica College in Utica, New York and also coached and played for the Utica Klubs men's rugby football club.
Ludwig enjoys exercise and working with various athletes to help obtain their physical goals for sport. His passion lies in rugby where he sees how hard-work and physicality play a large role for success.
"I am looking forward to this upcoming season and I am excited to see how both rugby teams compete this year," Ludwig said.
