Biography

2013: Earned All MEC honorable mention honors, after throwing for 2,504 yards and 21 touchdowns...his 21 TD passes were second most in the MEC while his 2,504 yards were third most...was named the MEC Offensive Player of the Week in the opening week of the season after throwing for 340 yards and a pair of touchdowns, and ran the game winning score with just over six minutes left in the fourth quarter to beat Malone, 37-31. 

Prior to NDC: was a two-year starter at quarterback for Head Coach Matt Duffy at Willoughby South … First Team All-Ohio (DI), Lake Country Offensive Player of the Year and Northeast Ohio Player of the Year as a senior (2010), when he threw for 2,845 yards and 41 TDs (Lake County record) … also tabbed as Fox-8 TV Player of the Year, Lake County MVP and News-Herald Tony Fisher award co-winner in 2010 … directed a Rebel offense that scored 536 points (48.7 per game) in 2010 … as a junior in 2009, threw for 1,900 yards and 30 TDs against just four interceptions … also earned two letters in baseball and two in basketball at South, where he was an Honor Roll student … son of Ray and Laura Russ.
