Shawn Chaffee was named Notre Dame's Defensive Line Coach prior to the 2018 season.
The defensive line played a key role in NDC's run to the NCAA DII Semifinals as the Falcons ranked fifth in the NCAA DII in rushing defense (82.9) and fourth in sacks (50).
Chaffee's players have also made splashes individually in the stat sheets as Sha'haun Williams led the country in sacks (20.0) in 2018, a mark that ranks third in NCAA DII single-season history. Williams also ranked second in the nation in tackles for a loss (24.5) in 2018 while he and fellow defensive lineman Derrick Brumfield each ranked fifth in forced fumbles with four apiece.
His players have earned multiple honors that include three all-conference members, one all-region honoree and one All-American. In 2018, Jack Kosko was named MEC Defensive Freshman of the Year.
Chaffee resides in Cleveland Heights with his wife Erin.
