Regis Scafe

Coach Scafe joined the NDC coaching staff in the winter of 2013, after spending 14 successful seasons at the helm of the John Carroll football program. 

Coach Scafe has over 30 years of coaching experience at the high school, and college levels.  Coach Scafe posted 10 consecutive non losing seasons while coaching at John Carroll.  He posted an 88-56 record during his tenure with the Blue Streaks, second most in the history of the program. 

In 2002, under Coach Scafe, the Blue Streaks went 12-2, setting the record for most wins in school history, earning an Eastern Regional Championship, and were a final four participant. He was named the co-coach of the year in the OAC that year as well.

Prior to taking control of the John Carroll program, Coach Scafe coached at his alma mater, Case Western Reserve from 1994-1998.

An assistant for seven years at John Carroll before landing his first head coaching job with Case, Coach Scafe was a defensive coordinator and linebackers coach with the Blue Streaks from 1987-94.

In his time at the college level, Coach Scafe has produced 23 All-Americans, 13 Conference MVPs, 70 All-Conference Performers, and five First Team Academic All-Americans.

At the high school level, Coach Scafe spent 15 years with Chanel High School.  He was the head coach from 1978-87, the Athletic Director from 1984-87, assistant coach from 1972-78, and was the wrestling coach in 1978. He was inducted into the Chanel Hall of Fame in 2000.

Coach Scafe earned his master’s degree in Curriculum and Instruction from Cleveland State in 1983. He and his wife Carol reside in Brecksville, Ohio.
