Anthony Soto joined the Notre Dame College football program before the 2016 season as the Offensive Lineman Coach. Prior to the 2018 season, he was named the team's Run Game Coordinator.

The 2018 season was the most successful in Notre Dame history, and Soto's leadership on the offensive line and in the run game was a big part of the team's run to the NCAA DII Semifinals. As NDC's Run Game Coordinator, Soto led the Falcons to an average of 264.6 yards on the ground per game. His offensive line played a key role in the success in the passing game as well as they allowed only 12 sacks in 14 games, which ranked 13th in the NCAA DII.

In his first two seasons, NDC saw a lot of success in the ground game as the team set program records each year. In 2018, the Falcons led the Mountain East Conference, and ranked sixth in the NCAA DII with its best rushing season to date with 3,704 yards.

In 2018, freshman running back Jaleel McLaughlin led the nation in rushing with 2,421 yards. McLaughlin performed well enough be named a finalist in the Harlon Hill Award nominations; he finished third in the voting.

In 2016, running back DJ Greene ran for 1,003 yards while quarterback Malik Grove passed the 500-yard milestone. In 2017, three individuals ran for over 500 yards. The team has recorded a combined 66 rushing touchdowns during his time at NDC.

Soto has coached 10 all-conference offensive lineman while four running backs have earned the honor in his first three seasons as well. In 2018, McLaughlin was named MEC Offensive Freshman of the Year and MEC Offensive Player of the Year as he became the first player to earn both honors in the same season.

His players have also earned recognition outside of the conference as two offensive lineman have been named all-region and one has earned All-American status. Soto has also seen one running back earn All-American honors. In 2018, offensive lineman Austin Treneff was named a finalist for the Gene Upshaw Award, which is given to the best lineman in NCAA DII. Treneff finished fourth in the voting. In 2017 and 2018, Treneff was named Academic All-American.Â
