Notre Dame College Athletics

2015: Was NDC's everyday shorstop, playing and and starting in 40 games on the year...hit .264 on the year with 32 hits, and was second on the team in both runs (28) and RBIs (19). 

2014: Played and started 42 games for the Falcons, as the everyday shortstop...hit .246, had 32 hits, was among the team leaders with 20 runs scored and 14 RBIs. 

Prior to NDC: Earned four varsity letters playing Shortstop for Head Coach Steve Smetana and the Badgers of Berkshire High School...as a Junior, Smetana was named to the first-team All-Chagrin Valley Conference and won the Conference MVP award (2011)...earned first team All-CVC honors after his senior year (2012)...was also an accomplished basketball player for the Badgers, earning three varsity letters for BHS...named to the first-team All-District team and was a honorable mention All-Ohio Basketball player after his Senior campaign on the hardwood (2012)...spent his first collegiate baseball season playing for the College of Albemarle...transferred to Notre Dame College for the Fall 2013 semester...Smetana's father, Steve, played in the Boston Red Sox organization while his Uncle, Justin, also played in the Red Sox organization...majoring in Education...son of Steve and Leslie Smetana.
