Normandy Field was built in the summer of 2013, and debuted in the fall of 2013. Used as a practice facility for nearly every outdoor sport at Notre Dame College, Normandy Field is used as a game day facility for Men's and Women's Soccer, Women's Lacrosse, Men's and Women's Rugby, and Softball.
Men's and Women's Soccer played their first games at Normandy Field in the Fall of 2013, while Lacrosse played its first game at Normandy Field in the Spring of 2014. Notre Dame College Softball, which had played its games on Campus Field, an all dirt field for many years, debuted on the all turf surface of Normandy Field in the Spring of 2014.
The surface is a synthetic turf. The only parts of the surface that are not turf are the home plate and pitching circle areas of the softball field.
The field was named "Normandy Field" after Normandy Catering made a generous donation to the College prior to the 2013-14 academic year.
