PROSPECTIVE STUDENT-ATHLETE INFORMATION

Welcome to the Notre Dame College Compliance site for prospective student-athletes (PSAs). Below you will find some important information regarding your participation in intercollegiate athletics. Please refer back to this site as we update information. In the meantime, please do not hesitate to contact your prospective coach or our Compliance Office.

A prospective student-athlete is a student who has started classes for the ninth grade. In addition, a student who has not started classes for the ninth grade becomes a PSA, if NDC provides such an individual (or the individual’s relatives or friends) any financial assistance or other benefits that NDC does not provide to prospective students generally. An individual remains a PSA until one of the following occurs:

-The individual officially registers and enrolls in a minimum full-time program of studies and attends classes in any term of a four-year collegiate institution’s regular academic year (excluding summer); OR

-The individual participates in a regular-squad practice or competition at a four-year collegiate institution.

All PSAs (including college transfers) who will be competing in the NCAA Division I or II for the first time must register with the Eligibility Center. Please click here to be directed to the Eligibility Center website:

In order to be eligible for competition right away, all PSAs entering college for the first time must satisfy the following criteria:

-Graduation from high school

-Successful completion of a required core curriculum consisting of 16 courses in specified subjects, as determined by the high school

-Minimum cumulative GPA of 2.2 in a successfully completed core curriculum of the same 16 courses
