Maridza Desir unleashed a firecracker of a shot from 40-yards out for her first career goal, delivering Notre Dame College (2-1-1, 1-0-1 MEC) a 1-0 victory on the road at Fairmont State (1-1-1, 1-1 MEC).
The two sides recorded an equal six shots each in the match, with FSU tallying four in the first half. In the 33

Jordan Pasalaqua was called to make a save, her only one of the match en route to her second clean sheet of the season and 19
th of her career. The Madison, Ohio native is now tied for the third most shutouts in program history.

In the 53
rd minute, Desir got the second half action started with her first career goal when she unleashed a rocket from 40 yards out, over the head of the keeper and into the back of the net. Only three other shots were taken for the remainder of the contest, with two from NDC and one from Fairmont State.
Individually, Notre Dame received shots on goal from Luckett (2), Buda (1), Desir (1) Marino (1). The NDC defense was stout as Pasalaqua tallied just one save in the shutout effort.
In comparing the two sides, Notre Dame had six shots and five on target, to go with eight corner kicks. Fairmont State posted six shots with on one on goal, to go with five corner kicks.
The Notre Dame College women's soccer team will be back in action on Wednesday Sept. 14 at 4 p.m. with a home contest against Wheeling.
