SALEM, Va. – As severe weather loomed over the first day at the Moyer Sports Complex, Notre Dame College's first game of the day was moved up from 12 p.m. to 9 a.m. In game one, NDC struck first but West Virginia Wesleyan put up seven runs to win 7-2. The Falcons scored a run in the seventh inning of game two and had the tying run on base, but fell to Frostburg State, 7-6.
Notre Dame started the day hitting the ball all over the field against W.Va. Wesleyan's pitcher Hannah Hudson, who was named MEC Pitcher of the Year. The middle of the order stepped up as freshman

Emily Marsh doubled to left-center field to score the first run. Senior
Alexi Maciejowski hit an infield single before senior
Lexi Rehm doubled down the left field line to score another run. With four consecutive hits, Notre Dame led 2-0 over the top seed in the tournament.
Rehm would finish the season with 16 doubles, which is sixth most in the program's single season history. She finished with 25 doubles in her time at NDC, which ranks in the top-ten for a career.
The W.Va. Wesleyan Bobcats flexed their muscle in the bottom of the first. With runners on first and third, WVWC had three consecutive hits to drive in four runs in the inning. Wesleyan would add two runs on a homer in the third and one more in the fifth inning.
Notre Dame was held to just one hit after the first inning and five hits for the game.
In game two, the Falcons scored a run in the first inning, again. And once again, it was Marsh's double to deep center field that plated one run. Marsh finished the season with 14 doubles and moved into the top ten in the program's single season history.
Frostburg State added a run in the second inning, but Notre Dame bounced right back in the top of the third. Senior
Daniele Rivera led off with a single and then Gumont singled to center. Both runners moved up a base on the throw in. With one out,
Alexi Maciejowski hit a no doubt three-run home run high over the left field fence to give NDC a 4-1 lead. She finishes the season with 12 home runs, which is tied for third most in Notre Dame single season history.
Another Frostburg State double drove in two runs in the third, but once again, the Falcons responded and Gumont hit a two out RBI single to give her team a 5-3 advantage.
Gumont had a career-high four hits in game two and finished the season on a 15-game hit streak.
FSU tied the game and took the lead in the fifth inning, with a two-run single and a fielder's choice RBI. The Bobcats would add a big insurance run in the sixth.
Gumont led off the top of the seventh with a single and everyone reached on a fielder's choice off the bat of Marsh. Gumont went to third on a throwing error during the play. Maciejowski stepped up and hit a ball to the shortstop, that resulted in a fielder's choice, scoring the runner from third. NDC could not score the tying run.
Gumont went 4-for-4 at the plate and Maciejowski finished the game with four RBI.
In NDC single season rankings, Maciejowski is third in runs batted in (51), tied for eighth in total bases (102) and ninth in slugging percentage (.685) this season.
Rivera ended the season in the top ten in NDC single season ranks in batting average (.417), hits (60), walks (29), on-base percentage (.514) and runs scored (40). In just two full seasons at NDC, she finished fifth in career average (.376), fourth in on-base percentage (.474) and had 103 hits.
