SOUTH EUCLID, Ohio – The Notre Dame College (7-9, 6-5 MEC) women's basketball team traveled down to Alderson Broaddus University (7-7, 5-6 MEC) on Saturday afternoon to continue Mountain East Conference play. NDC fell 89-65 on Saturday afternoon.
In the first quarter, Notre Dame played well by shooting 8-18 (44.4%) from the field and 4-7 (57.1%) from three, to ensure a 22-17 lead after the first ten minutes.
AB ramped up their game by shooting 9-13 (69.2%) from the field in the second quarter, while holding NDC to 5-15 (33.3%) shooting, to grab the quarter 22-12 and hold a 39-34 lead at the break.
The Battlers continued to shoot the ball well in the third quarter and won the period 24-11. They led 63-45 with ten minutes to play.
In the final period of play, the scoring intensified, but Alderson Broaddus held on 89-65.
On offense,
Amil Ali-Shakir paced Notre Dame with career-high 17 points, followed by
Lilee Carlson with ten, as eight different Falcons contributed to the offensive output.
Tamia Ridley secured a game-high 11 rebounds, as Carlson dished out a career-high seven assists during the contest.
Notre Dame College will be back in action when they stay on the road at Concord University, with the game scheduled for Wednesday Jan. 26 at 5:30 p.m.
