Baseball Splits with Lake Erie, Score 12 Runs Total

AVON, OH — The Notre Dame College Falcons baseball team split a doubleheader with the Storm of Lake Erie College this afternoon.

Jesse Clark got the start on the bump in the first game, but allowed two runs in his four innings pitched to give Lake Erie an early lead. Hayden Parker replaced him in the fifth, and with the help of the offensive explosion, finished the nine-inning game for the win.  Parker allowed two hits in his five innings of work with three strikeouts and a walk. The two pitchers combined earned six strikeouts total.

Ben Ross, Nick Farrell, and Mike Zeuli had good days at the plate. Additionally, left fielder Parker Hray went a perfect 3-3 with a double.

The Falcons dropped an extra inning game to the Storm to end their day with a final score of 4-3. The Falcons earned an early 3-0 lead by the third inning, but Lake Erie would score three runs in the top of the fifth inning to tie the game, and the two teams played until the tenth inning when Lake Erie went ahead 4-3, and the Falcon offense could not take back the lead.

Ben Ross ended the day going 4-5 total, driving in three runs and scoring two with a triple. Nick Farrell went 4-6 on the day, driving in two runs with a double. Mike Zeuli went 3-9, knocking two runs in and scoring two himself with a double.

The Falcons will head on the road for a Friday single game against Mercyhurst before they begin conference play next weekend.
