INSTITUTE, W.Va. – The Notre Dame College women's basketball team played Fayetteville State University during day two of the Conference Challenge hosted by West Virginia State. The Broncos beat the Falcons on Sunday afternoon 88-54, in a contest that FSU led for all 40 minutes.
In the first quarter, Fayetteville State jumped to a 13-3 lead at the four-minute mark.
Tamia Ridley rounded out the quarter with six straight NDC points, but the Broncos would lead 21-13.
In the second quarter,
Alana Ellis and Notre Dame would cut the Fayetteville State lead to four after a fast break layup, 25-21 at the 6:20 mark. FSC would end the quarter on a 17-7 run to lead by ten (42-28) at the half.
The third quarter was dominated by Fayetteville State as they outscored Notre Dame 28-15 in the stanza to swell their lead to 27 (70-43).
The Broncos would hold on to the contest in the fourth, winning the quarter 18-11.
Ellis posted a team-high 17 points, followed by
Abby Hatter's career-high 14 points off the bench. Ridley added nine points and a game-high 13 rebounds.
Notre Dame College will be back in action for their home opener inside Murphy Gymnasium on Wednesday Nov. 17 at 6 PM against Mercyhurst University.
