WEST LIBERTY, W.Va. – Notre Dame College women's soccer traveled down to Hilltopper country to face WLU on Saturday afternoon. The two sides ended in a 1-1 draw after 110 minutes, marking the second time that these two sides have faced each other this season, with the first match resulting in a 0-0 draw in South Euclid on Sept. 15. After the draw, NDC is now 2-2-3 (2-13 MEC) and WLU is now 4-2-3 (3-1-2 MEC).
In the first half, it was a 23
rd minute goal by
Louisa Follert on an assist by
Isabel Sentle to give the Falcons the early lead. For Follert, it is her fifth goal on the season to lead the NDC attack. For Sentle, it is her first assist of 2021.
In the second half, West Liberty would respond with the equalizing goal in the 78
th minute to draw level with Notre Dame. The goal by WLU's Alyssa Rhinaman would be the final score of the afternoon in a battle between two evenly matched programs.
In total, NDC had eight shots and
Jordan Pasalaqua totaled five saves in goal. On the other hand, WLU had six shots with their keeper, Olivia Montgomery, grabbing seven saves.
Notre Dame College women's soccer will be back in action on Wednesday Oct. 6 when the Falcons return home to Mueller Field to face Wheeling University at 4 p.m.
