FAIRMONT, W.Va. - The Notre Dame College women's soccer team continued its streak of tied contests at Fairmont State on Sunday afternoon. The Falcons tied 1-1 at FSU for their third-straight draw. The women have started their season off with a 1-1-3 (0-0-2 MEC) record.
Fairmont State's Ari Christiansen scored the games first goal in the 30th minute off a corner kick. The freshman headed the ball in off a pass from teammate Ella Wilson.
The FSU Falcons held their lead for the next 44 minutes before
Caroline Plunkett tied things up. Plunkett's goal, scored off a deflection, ulitmately forced double overtime, but neither team was able to get much going.
Fairmont State took one shot in the extra time, but that was all either team was able to do as the defenses took control of the match.
Kyra McDowell recorded five saves throughout the 110 minutes to bring her saves total up to 12 on the week.
With two home games coming up this weekend, the Falcons will be in search of their first decision in conference play.
