ASHLAND, Ohio - The Notre Dame College women's soccer team fell 3-0 at Ashland University Wednesday evening. The Falcons will end their regular season non-conference play 0-3 before their opening MEC game this weekend.
The Eagles were able to stifle the NDC offense in the first half, holding the Falcons to just one shot, but things turned around in the second half as Notre Dame was able to apply some pressure with six shots, including two on goal. It wasn't enough to surpass the Ashland offense though, as AU got off eight shots in both halves.
Scoring for Ashland in the first half was Abby Grzetic, who was able to convert 24 yards out. The next two goals were more unconventional as NDC allowed an own goal and a goal off a penalty shot in the second half.
Notre Dame will begin Mountain East Conference play this Sunday, September 9, at West Liberty. Kickoff is scheduled for 1 p.m.
