SOUTH EUCLID, Ohio – There was no shortage of offense in for the women's soccer program at Notre Dame College Wednesday as the Falcons improved to 6-0 with a 4-1 victory over Urbana (1-6).

Senior
Jackie Corrigan got things going early with a goal in the tenth minute of the game to give NDC a 1-0 lead. Corrigan was given a clean pass from midfielder
Norah Barnes for a shot with just the goalkeeper in her way.

"I saw myself wide open with an outside defender, made the run through and Norah passed me a great ball for a one-on-one shot with the goalie," Corrigan said. "We work a lot on the outside forwards making runs across so Norah knows that I like the ball through or over the top so I can use my speed. She's very consisted with always being there and putting her head on the ball."

Urbana was able to tie the game 1-1, 24 minutes in, but the momentum was already with the Falcons. Fifteen minutes later,
Samantha Bidinger scored what would be the game-winning goal with an assist from
Alyssa Soltis.

"When we score, especially how we scored today in the first 10 minutes, it really gives us good momentum," Corrigan said. "It's good to start off right away with a goal. It changes the speed of the game and makes it more exciting."

In the second half, the Falcons increased their lead with a goal from
Jillian Doss and another goal from Corrigan, her fifth of the season.

Doss was able to put one in after a corner kick that bounced around in the penalty box and found its way to her for a strike into the bottom right corner. Corrigan wasted no time after Doss's goal to add another of her own less than two and a half minutes later, this time assisted by
Samantha Bidinger.

Head coach
Mike Shiels was impressed with his team's ability to capitalize throughout the game.

"I'm really pleased with the way the team finished some opportunities today," Shiels said. "It's so important to capitalize on any chances we get and put conference opponents away."

The defense, which includes Doss, had a solid performance as well. The Blue Knights were only able to get three total shots off during the 90 minutes, with only one in the second half.

With this win, NDC has its best start since the 2013 season when the Falcons went 11-0 to start the year and ended with a 16-2 record.

"It's exciting because it puts us on the map," Corrigan said. "People know what we can do. I feel like sometimes we don't get the credit we deserve, especially with the talent we have on the team so it's nice to show everyone we can play and we can win at this level."

Notre Dame will play at home on Sunday, September 24 at 3 p.m. against West Liberty.
