SOUTH EUCLID, Ohio -- Notre Dame College Athletic Director
Scott Swain has announced the hiring of Ryan Wynn, as the new Head Water Polo Coach.
Wynn, a native of Santa Cruz, Calif., comes to College Road with a great deal of experience both in swimming, and water polo. He was a member of the 1997 Pepperdine Water Polo team that won a national championship, which is the program's only national championship.
He played four years at Pepperdine, and earned a BS in Physical Education-Recreation. In addition to the national championship at Pepperdine, he was a starter in his final season, where he led team in steals, ejections drawn and was the recipient of the Coaches Award.
"I'm very excited about this new opportunity to coach at Notre Dame College," said Wynn. "I've always wanted to coach Water Polo at the College level, and this is a terrific opportunity for me to show what I'm capable of. I want to thank
Scott Swain and the Notre Dame College community for giving me a chance to do what I love to do."
Wynn is also a 12-time United States Masters Swimming National Champion , and was a member of the 2003 USMS Championship team. Recently, he coached the Boys Water Polo team at Valhalla High School in El Cajon, Calif., and also coached the Rancho San Diego Water Polo Club team back in 2012.
"We are happy to have Ryan join the Falcon Family," said Swain. "Ryan will bring a great deal of experience from his time with a National Championship team at Pepperdine. His high energy and a positive attitude will help take our Water Polo programs to the next level."
The NDC Women's Water Polo team will be in action again next month, after starting their season in Erie, Pa., last weekend.
