Colleen Groomes is entering her third season as the Head Coach of both the Men's and Women's Golf Programs. She was named head coach of both programs prior to the 2015-16 academic year, after spending the previous two seasons as the Head Women’s Golf Coach.

Groomes joined the NDC coaching staff in August 2011 as an Assistant Coach for the Men’s and Women’s Golf Teams.

In her second year as the Head Coach of the Women's Team, the Falcons captured their first Mountain East Conference Tournament Championship in October 2014, and in her first year at the helm of both the men's and women's teams, she coached NDC's first MEC Individual Medalist, Brian Bir, who won the 2015 MEC Tournament. 

In 2013-14, her first year as the Head Coach of the Women's Team, the Falcons finished second at the Mountain East Conference Tournament, and came away with two tournament titles, the St. Vincent College Lady Bearcat Invitational and the Ursuline Ice Cup Challenge. In addition, two student athletes were named the Women's Golf Coaches Association Academic All American Scholars.

Groomes was named the 2013-14 MEC Coach of the Year, while three Falcons earned All MEC honors, including Brianna Stokes, who was named the MEC Freshman of the Year.

As the Head Coach of the Women's program, Groomes coached the 2014-15 team to an MEC Championship. And was named MEC Coach of the Year in back-to-back seasons (2013-14, 2014-15).

While coaching both programs, one athlete has won an Individual MEC Championship (Brian Bir) while six golfers have finished in the top 10 at the MEC Championships. Groomes has helped lead many student-athletes to post season honors including seven WGCA All-American Scholars (Christi Bilas 4x, Natalie Briganti 2x, Tringhese 1x), one GCAA All America Scholar (Brian Bir), one All-Region honoree, nine All-MEC honorees and one MEC Freshman of the Year.

Prior to coming to NDC, Groomes had a very successful collegiate career at Otterbein College. While at Otterbein, the Elyria, Ohio, native was a member of four straight Ohio Athletic Conference championship teams, 25 team tournament wins, and eight individual medalist titles.  Groomes was a four time all OAC selection, three-time Academic All OAC selection, three-time National Golf Coaches Association All American Scholar, the 2005 OAC Player of the year, and 2006 OAC Clyde Lamb Award Winner.

Groomes graduated from Otterbein in 2006 with a B.A. in Organizational Communication, and is currently working on her M.Ed.  She resides in South Euclid, Ohio.
