Claire Kallio became the third head coach in NDC Women's Lacrosse history in January, 2014. She came to NDC after spending several years as an assistant coach at both the College and High School levels.

In her coaching career, Kallio was an assistant coach at Marquette High School in Saint Louis, Mo., before coming back to Ohio, where she served as an assistant at Medina in 2012-13.  While an assistant with Medina, the Bees won the State Title in 2012, and made a final four appearance in 2013.  Kallio most recently served as an assistant at Baldwin-Wallace in the Fall of 2013.

Kallio had a terrific high school career at Medina.  While playing for the Bees, she was a four year starter, and played on the 2004 Northeast Ohio State Championship Team.  Additionally, she earned All-Ohio honors in 2007, while being named the Coach's MVP.

She played collegiately at Fontbonne University, in St. Louis, Mo.  She was a four year starter for the Griffins, and as the Goalkeeper, she set the program record for wins and saves.  She set the Midwest Women's Lacrosse Conference (MWLC) record for most saves in a regular season with 160 in 2011.

While with the Griffins, Kallio also a co-captain, voted Most Valuable Defender, Most Valuable Teammate, and in 2011, she earned All MWLC First Team honors.Â
