October Student-Athlete Of The Month
Sal Caroniti, a senior from Broadview Heights, Ohio, is a nursing major, and has a 3.5 cumulative GPA. Back in 2012, he earned the Cleveland Clinic’s Annual Caregiver Honors Award, which is bestowed annually for employees whose performances embody the Cleveland Clinic's Patients First principle in the manner in which they deliver outstanding care and service.
He is enjoying his finest season to date. Throughout the month of October, Caroniti participated in three races, and finished in the top-5 in two of those races, while earning a spot on the All Mountain East Conference First Team.Â
Caroniti finished fourth overall at the Mountain East Conference Championships on Oct. 26, finishing the race in 27:08.92-mark, averaging 5:27 per mile, which was the 19th fastest time in school history. Prior to that, he finished fifth in a field of 72 runners at the Fast Cats Classic, crossing the finish line at the 27:20.86-mark.
