Notre Dame releases 2010 Cross Country schedule

SOUTH EUCLID, Ohio – The Notre Dame Falcons have released their 2010 men's and women's cross country schedule. The Falcons will open their season on Saturday, Sept. 4, at the Bill Sudek Invitational. (Schedule)

The Falcons will compete in seven events during the 2010 season, five of which they competed in one year ago. For the Falcon men, the 2010 season will be the ninth in program history, while 2010 marks the 22nd season for the women, making it the third oldest program in Notre Dame Athletics.

Of Notre Dame's seven events, four will take place in the buckeye state, while they race in three out of state events (Indiana, New York). Their season will begin on Sept. 4, in Hunting Valley, Ohio, at the Bill Sudek Invitational and they will finish the season on Nov. 6, in Houghton, N.Y., at the American Mideast Conference Championships.

“The 2010 schedule will provide our men and women with strong NCAA D-I and D-II competition,” said Head Coach #Kyle Komer#. "Having to run, year in and year out in the AMC, arguably the toughest conference in the NAIA, these meets will prepare our runners for championship racing come season's end.”

At the end of the 2009 season, the Falcons men placed sixth in a field of 10 teams at the AMC Championships while the women placed seventh in a field of 11 teams, both tying program bests at the AMC meet.
