SOUTH EUCLID, Ohio, Feb. 4 -- Notre Dame Head Football Coach
Adam Howard has announced the addition of 54 student-athletes to the NDC football program.
“I feel like our staff has done a tremendous job in adding some of the best players possible to our program,” said Howard, whose Falcons will compete in their inaugural season in the fall of 2010. “We feel like we addressed some position needs and that we added depth in other areas that will allow us to compete in a tough slate of games in 2010.”
Notre Dame's 2010 commitments include 48 high-school players and six college transfers. The class is comprised of players from five states - in addition to the wellspring of talent culled from the Buckeye State, NDC recruited student-athletes from Arizona, Colorado, Florida and Pennsylvania. Howard, on the growing recruiting pool for Falcon Football:
“We signed some notable players such as
Bo Grunder (Massillon, Ohio), who was the Division-I Co-Defensive Player of the Year in the state of Ohio from Massillon Washington High School, and we expanded as far as Arizona to land one of the best wide receivers Arizona state-champion Chaparral High School. This diverse class of accomplished students and football players represent some of the best high schools in Ohio and surrounding areas, and we're excited to see them contribute to the growing campus community here at Notre Dame College.”
