MASSILLON, Ohio – On Sunday, No. 8 Notre Dame College was able to hold off No. 3 Ashland University and win by a score of 19-18 in a dual meet at Massillon Senior High School.
The Falcons, started the day strong, winning four of the first five match-ups. Redshirt-senior
Ivan McClay took down Sebastian Vidka, who is ranked 9th, with a 10-5 decision. At 157 lbs., sophomore
Fernando Silva won with a pin at 5:58 over Sid Ohl.
Later in the meet, junior
Justan Rivera went to overtime and defeated No. 9 Christian Price with a 3-1 decision.

Kameron Teacher did not wrestle. Head coach
Frank Romano said that Teacher had not been feeling well all week and the coaching staff sat him out. Notre Dame was leading 19-12 before the 285 lbs. dual.
"It was a good meet, we had a decent crowd and nobody got dinged up," Romano said. "This was the second time that we beat Ashland this season. We are 5-1 now (in duals) and are happy about that."
NDC will wrestle in the Murphy Gymnasium on January 19 in a dual meet with West Liberty University. The meet will begin at 7 p.m.
