Make-A-Wish Reveal: Bahama Trip

SOUTH EUCLID, Ohio – Following Saturday's 97-50 victory over Concord University for Notre Dame's women's basketball program, a Make-A-Wish reveal took place on the basketball court.

It was an island-themed day in the Murphy Gymnasium for both the women's and men's games and the student section had come prepared with their Hawaiian shirts. The star of the day was then revealed as Kelly was introduced and brought to center court. She was given a special basketball with her picture and the words "Honorary Falcon" on the side of the ball.

With representatives from the sports programs on campus standing in a line, a carpet was rolled out on the court and luggage bags were revealed. This led to the biggest surprise of the day: Kelly and her family were going on a vacation to the Bahamas.

After the reveal, the crowd gave her a standing ovation and many people held up signs with words of encouragement, showing their support.

Falcon Athletics has raised $4,062 already in 2017 for Make-A-Wish, including $3,599.86 that was raised on the weekend for Kelly and her family.

"I am so proud of the passion of our Student-Athletes to get behind this great cause." Director of Athletics Scott Swain said, "The enthusiasm they showed on Saturday's reveal was truly remarkable. I know we brightened Kelly's life today and that is what we are all about."
