The slugging right fielder from Oakwood Village, Ohio, hit .408/.489/.656 (batting/on-base/slugging) this season and was an outstanding run producer for Head Coach #Amy Kyler-Stallman# and the American Mideast Conference Champion Falcons. On May 13th, Colston was named AMC Player of the year.
Colston, a transfer from Lincoln University (Pa.), helped NDC win its second straight AMC pennant, and in earning the Player of the Year award, headlined a list of four Falcons named first team All-AMC. She also continued what is now a four-year run of an NDC player earning a Player of the Year award: Anna Ball was named AMC Player of the Year in 2007 and 2009 and AMC North Division Player of the Year in 2008.
Part of her remarkable season included a program record, 58 runs scored on a team that touched home plate a total of 301 times, second most in Falcon history. Colston paced the Falcons with seven homeruns, and finished the year with five triples, two short of another program record for most three-baggers in a season.
Colston ranked third in the AMC with her .408 batting average, led the circuit with her 58 runs scored, tied for the conference lead in triples with five, finished second in the conference in hits (64), runs batted in (37), and homeruns (7). Colston also finished the season tied with teammate #Mallory Harder# for the conference lead in total bases with 103.
