SOUTH EUCLID, Ohio – The Notre Dame Department of Athletics announced today the hiring of Stacey Hoover and Jeff Robinson as the inaugural head coaches of the NDC bowling program.
Stacey Hoover comes to College Road from Cuyahoga Falls where she was the boys varsity coach for the Cuyahoga Falls High School since 2005. Most recently, during her tenure with the Black Tigers, she led them to conference and division titles as well as a place in the Ohio High School State Qualifying tournament.
Hoover herself is a three-time Akron Women's Bowlers Association Bowler of the Year and has garnered several tournament championships, both as an individual as a team. During her tenure as a junior bowler, Hoover was ranked as high as third in the nation.
She resides in Cuyahoga Falls, with her husband Alan and has three sons, Addison, Ty and Trent.
Robinson comes to Notre Dame from Columbus where he has been a United States Bowling Congress (USBC) Silver Certified Coach since 2007. In Columbus, he served as the head coach of the Ohio State Women's Bowling team since 2005 and has been at the helm of Westerville Central High School since 2006. Overall, he has amassed over 25 years of experience as a junior bowling coach. He is also a member of the Palace Coaching Group and gives private and group bowling lessons.
Robinson also bowled collegiately for Robert Morris (Ill.). He resides in Columbus with his wife Lisa and has two sons, Jason and Jamie.
“We are very lucky to have Stacey and Jeff join our department,” said Director of Athletics Sue Hlavacek. “They both bring a lot of experience and knowledge of the game and will have an immediate impact on the new bowling program.”
