Eighth Annual Golf Classic slated for July 17
SOUTH EUCLID, Ohio – Notre Dame Athletics announced will be hosting the Eighth Annual Falcon Golf Classic on Friday, July 17, at Grantwood Golf Course in Solon, Ohio. (Brochure | Online Registration)

The scramble raises money to benefit the growing needs of student-athletes and the NDC Department of Athletics. The golf outing, which was first played in 2002, supports Notre Dame’s 21 athletic teams and its more than 400 student athletes. Funds raised in recent years have supported the institution of new programs (Wrestling and Women’s Swimming & Diving) and the construction of a new on-campus practice field. In November 2008, NDC announced the addition of football and men’s and women’s bowling.

“Our golf outing is an integral part of our fundraising activities,” said Director of Athletics Susan Hlavacek. “With the addition of our new initiatives, this is an exciting time in NDC Athletics and an important time for community outreach.”

The Falcon Golf Classic invites alumni, family and friends of the Notre Dame community to enjoy the upcoming day of fun. A $100 player donation, of which a portion is tax deductible, includes 18 holes of golf, including cart, continental breakfast, a hot dog and beverage at the turn, a buffet luncheon and additional prizes.

For more information, contact Susan Hlavacek, Director of Athletics at 216.373.5306 or shlavacek@ndc.edu. You may also download the 2009 Falcon Golf Classic Brochure and also register for the event online.
