NDC announces four more recruits

Inaugural class approaches 100 players

SOUTH EUCLID, Ohio -- Notre Dame Football announced today that four more players have committed to joining the new program, which is slated to get underway this fall.

The four players are Tomas Chaszar (Amherst, Ohio), Sylvester Flowers (Oakland Park, Fla.), Nick Koshiol (Mentor, Ohio) and Robbie Lias (Hubbard, Ohio).

Chaszar is a 2008 graduate of Marion L. Steele High School in Amherst, Ohio. He lettered in footall and wrestling for the Comets, playing offensive tackle on the gridiron. He plans on majoring in business at Notre Dame.

Flowers comes to College Road from Oakland Park, Fla., where he was a standout defensive back, receiver, kick returner and three-year letterman for Coral Glades High School. Over his junior and senior seasons (2007-08) for the Jaguars, he made 29 tackles and hauled in 22 receptions for 337 yards and a pair of touchdowns. The 5-foot-11 speedster was named the team MVP for CGHS in 2008. He plans on beginning classes in the fall and on majoring in sports management.

Koshiol comes from Mentor, Ohio, where he earned three letters in football and played on the Mentor Cardinals' 2007 Division I State Championship team. Koshiol, a 5-foot-11, 210-pounder, played fullback and linebacker for Mentor and Head Coach Steve Trivisonno. He tallied 210 tackles over his junior and senior seasons (2007-08), and was named All-Lake Erie League, All-Northeast Ohio and Honorable Mention-All-Ohio as a senior. The incoming freshman plans on majoring in sports management.

Lias was a two-sport (football, wrestling) standout for Hubbard High School. On the gridiron, he played defensive end for Head Coach Brian Hoffman and was named as an All-All-American Conference selection in his senior campaign (2008). The son of Bob and Denise Lias, Robbie plans on beginning classes in the fall and on majoring in sports management.

“We're still working hard to build the foundation of a program,” said Falcon Head Coach #Adam Howard#. “These are talented football players, and we want to challenge them and see what they can do at the next level.”

With today's announcement, Howard indicated that NDC Football now has 94 commitments for the 2009 squad.

The development of a Football program at Notre Dame College was announced on Nov. 25. With their development of a team, Notre Dame becomes the only scholarship football team in the metropolitan Cleveland area.
