SOUTH EUCLID, Ohio -- Notre Dame Football announced today they have hired David Roberson as an assistant coach.
Roberson comes to NDC from Stonehill College (Mass.), where he served as linebackers coach for one season (2008). Prior to that, he served in the same position at Norwich University (Conn.) in 2006 and 2007. Roberson will serve as linebackers coach and special teams coordinator for the Falcons.
“David is a talented coach and recruiter,” said Head Coach #Adam Howard#, who was Roberson's position coach at Wilmington College, where Roberson earned four letters playing linebacker from 1999-2002. “He brings a lot of valuable experiences to our program, and we believe he can help us develop our guys on and off the field.”
Roberson, a native of Cincinnati, Ohio, earned recognition among coaches for his role in developing standout linebackers each of the past two seasons. In 2008, Roberson helped develop a First Team All-Northeast-10 linebacker at Stonehill. At Norwich in 2007, he helped mentor a linebacker that was named the Empire Eight's Rookie of the Year.
Prior to becoming an assistant coach at Norwich, Roberson coached the defensive line and was the special team coordinator at Elder High School (Cincinnati). He and his wife Sandy reside in Euclid, Ohio.
The development of a Football program at Notre Dame College was announced on Nov. 25. With their development of a team, Notre Dame becomes the only scholarship football team in the metropolitan Cleveland area. For information about the program and Head Coach
