NDC arms backfield with Kyle Shaffer

SOUTH EUCLID, Ohio -- Notre Dame Football announced today that Kyle Shaffer has signed an NAIA Letter of Intent to continue his career with the Falcons.

Shaffer is a senior at Riverside High School in Painesville, Ohio, where he earned three letters for the Beavers in football and another two in baseball. Shaffer played quarterback at RHS, compiling 2,574 passing yards over his junior and senior seasons. He served as senior captain in the 2008 season, when he earned Second Team All-Premier Athletic Conference honors, with 123 completions for a school-record 1,833 yards.

Shaffer leaves Riverside as the school's career record-holder for touchdown passes (21). Playing for Head Coach Ryan Wolf, the 5-foot-10 signal caller led the Beavers to a 13-7 record over two seasons.

The son of Robert and Michelle Shaffer plans on beginning classes at NDC in the fall.
