NDC parts waves with Hiram

Men, women split in home dual with Terriers

SOUTH EUCLID, Ohio -- #Emily Whittington# garnered three gold medals and led the Falcons to nine wins in 11 women's events, as the NDC women defeated Hiram, 127-73, at home Friday night. The Falcon men lost, 117-83.  (Results)

Whittington won the 1,000-Yard Freestyle and the 200 Back and led off NDC's gold-winning 400 Medley Relay. The sophomore swimmer from Pickerington, Ohio, and owner of six individual records heading into the 2009-10 season has earned seven golds in the Falcons' first two meets.

#Maria Buenano#, #Shannon Fitzgerald# and #Kelly O'Conner# also earned multiple gold medals (two each) in the women's victory.

The men's team was paced by freshman #Greg Pristov#, who earned a gold and two silvers. In the men's competition, Hiram won 10 of the meet's 11 events. Three different Terrier swimmers (Santiago Morales, Travis Subda, Zach Wegman) each earned a trio of individual golds on the evening.

The meet was the first of five at home this season for the Falcons. The Blue & White will be back in the water on Friday, Nov. 6, when they host John Carroll.
